What if we centered 'joy' instead of 'outcomes'?
My Story
Between 2017 and 2019, I began trying to break into Hollywood's TV Writing industry. I also happened to be a wife, mom of two young kids, and assistant professor living on the other side of the country at the time.

It seemed crazy, and the advice I was getting suggested that my odds of breaking in under those circumstances were quite slim. I respected this feedback, but rather than giving up I simply reoriented my process. Rather than centering the (unlikely) outcome of getting a writing job in Hollywood, I centered finding moments of joy along the way. I knew that this approach would guarantee a sense of 'success' no matter the outcome, but it turned out to be the key that unlocked the door to my dreams.
